Use the Sidewalk
- Always walk on the sidewalk or footpath.
- If there’s no sidewalk, walk facing the traffic on the side of the road.
Cross the Road Safely
- Always use a zebra crossing or pedestrian bridge.
- Look left, then right, and then left again before crossing.
- Cross when the road is clear or when the traffic light shows the pedestrian signal.
Follow Traffic Lights
- Red light means stop.
- Yellow light means wait.
- Green light means go, but always check for vehicles.
Avoid Running on the Road
- Do not run or play near the road.
- Stay calm and alert while walking.
Hold an Adult’s Hand
- Always hold an adult’s hand when crossing the road or walking in busy areas.
Stay Alert Near Vehicles
- Do not stand too close to parked cars or buses.
- Avoid crossing behind or in front of moving vehicles.
Wear Bright Clothing
- Wear bright or reflective clothes when walking in low light to help drivers see you.
Be Careful on Two-Wheelers
- Always wear a helmet if riding a bicycle or sitting on a motorbike with an adult.
- Sit properly and hold tight.
Know Road Signs
- Learn simple road signs like STOP, SCHOOL ZONE, and PEDESTRIAN CROSSING.
Stay Calm in an Emergency
- If lost or in trouble, stay in one place and ask for help from a traffic officer or a trusted adult.
