What is Eid?

- Eid is a special holiday celebrated by Muslims around the world. It marks the end of Ramadan, the holy month of fasting.
Two Major Eids:
There are two main Eids:
- Eid al-Fitr: Celebrated at the end of Ramadan.

- Eid al-Adha: Celebrated to honor the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to God.

Celebrations:
- People wear new clothes to celebrate.
- They visit family and friends.
- People give gifts, especially to children.
- Special meals are prepared and shared with family.
Acts of Charity:

- During Eid, Muslims give to charity to help those in need. This is called Zakat al-Fitr.
- It’s a way of sharing joy and blessings with others.
Eid Prayers:

- On Eid morning, Muslims go to the mosque to pray together.
- The prayers are an important part of the celebration.
Eid Sweets:

- Special sweets like baklava and dates are prepared and enjoyed by families.
Community and Togetherness:
- Eid is a time to be with family, friends, and neighbors.
- It’s about spreading love, kindness, and happiness.
Symbols of Eid:
- Crescent moon: Often associated with the start of Ramadan and Eid.

- Eid cards and decorations: Families decorate their homes to celebrate.
