Symmetry
What is Symmetry?
- Symmetry means both sides are the same.
- A shape is symmetrical if it can be folded into two equal halves.
✂️ Line of Symmetry
- The line that divides a shape into two equal parts is called a line of symmetry.
- When you fold along this line, both sides match exactly.
👀 Examples of Symmetry
- 🦋 Butterfly
- ❤️ Heart
- 🔲 Square
- 🍃 Leaf
👉 These all have equal left and right sides.
❌ Not Symmetrical Shapes
- Shapes that do not match when folded are not symmetrical.
- Example: uneven or irregular shapes.
🎯 Easy Tips for Students
- Fold the shape → Do both sides match?
- If YES ✅ → Symmetrical
- If NO ❌ → Not symmetrical
🧠 Fun Activity
- Draw a line in the middle of a picture.
- Color both sides the same.
- Check if your picture is symmetrical!
Learn with an example
🚀Does this picture have symmetry?

- yes
- no
- Imagine folding this picture along the dotted line.
