Explain that plurals are used when talking about more than one thing. For regular plurals, we usually add “-s” or “-es” to the end of a word.
Singular vs. Plural:
Start with simple examples, such as:
- Singular: cat

- Plural: cats

Adding -s:
For most nouns, add “-s” to make them plural:
- One dog → Two dogs


- One chair → Two chairs


Adding -es:
For nouns that end in -s, -x, -z, -sh, or -ch, add “-es”:
- One box → Two boxes


- One bush → Two bushes
