Find the complete sentences
Key Notes:-
Definition of a Sentence:
- A sentence is a group of words that expresses a complete thought.
- It starts with a capital letter and ends with a period (.), question mark (?), or exclamation mark (!).
Identifying Complete Sentences:
- Complete Thought: Ensure the sentence makes sense on its own. For example, “The cat sleeps” is a complete thought, but “The cat” is not.
- Subject and Predicate: Every complete sentence has a subject (who or what the sentence is about) and a predicate (what the subject does). For example, “The dog barks.”
Capitalization and Punctuation:
- Complete sentences start with a capital letter and end with a punctuation mark (period, question mark, or exclamation mark).
Examples of Complete Sentences:
- “The cat sleeps.”
- “Can you play?”
- “We love pizza!”
Identifying Incomplete Sentences:
- Incomplete sentences (fragments) might be missing a subject or predicate or may not make complete sense.
- Examples of incomplete sentences: “Running fast” (missing a subject), “The dog in the park” (missing what the dog is doing).
