  • Purpose: Provides information or expresses a fact.
  • Example: “The cat is sleeping.”

  • Definition: A question asks something and ends with a question mark (?)
  • Purpose: Seeks information or asks for an answer.
  • Example: “Is the cat sleeping?”

  • Definition: A command gives an instruction or tells someone to do something and ends with a period (.) or an exclamation mark (!)
  • Purpose: Directs someone to perform an action.
  • Example: “Close the door.” or “Close the door!”

  • Definition: An exclamation shows strong feeling or excitement and ends with an exclamation mark (!)
  • Purpose: Expresses emotions such as surprise, excitement, or anger.
  • Example: “Wow, look at that cat!”
