Statement
- Definition: A statement tells something and ends with a period (.)
- Purpose: Provides information or expresses a fact.
- Example: “The cat is sleeping.”
Question
- Definition: A question asks something and ends with a question mark (?)
- Purpose: Seeks information or asks for an answer.
- Example: “Is the cat sleeping?”
Command
- Definition: A command gives an instruction or tells someone to do something and ends with a period (.) or an exclamation mark (!)
- Purpose: Directs someone to perform an action.
- Example: “Close the door.” or “Close the door!”
Exclamation
- Definition: An exclamation shows strong feeling or excitement and ends with an exclamation mark (!)
- Purpose: Expresses emotions such as surprise, excitement, or anger.
- Example: “Wow, look at that cat!”
