Put the words in ABC order

Key Notes:-

  • Explain that alphabetical order means arranging words based on the order of letters in the alphabet (A, B, C, D, etc.).
  • Look at the first letter of each word to determine their order. Words starting with ‘A’ come before words starting with ‘B’, and so on.
  • If two words start with the same letter, compare the second letter, then the third, and so on until the words are sorted.
  • Start with a simple list of words, such as “cat,” “bat,” “apple,” and “dog.”
  • Guide the students through comparing the first letters of each word to determine their order.
  • Use familiar and simple words (like cat, dog, apple) to practice putting them in alphabetical order.
