Objective:

Learn how to add numbers using pictures, with answers that add up to 10 or less.

What is Addition?

Addition means putting things together to find out how many you have in total.

How to Add with Pictures:
  • Look at the pictures.
  • Count each group.
  • Add the numbers together.
Examples:
  1. Apples Example:
    🍎🍎 + 🍎🍎🍎 = ?
    Count the apples:
    2 apples + 3 apples = 5 apples
  2. Stars Example:
    ⭐️⭐️⭐️ + ⭐️⭐️ = ?
    Count the stars:
    3 stars + 2 stars = 5 stars
  3. Balloons Example:
    🎈🎈🎈🎈 + 🎈🎈 = ?
    Count the balloons:
    4 balloons + 2 balloons = 6 balloons

Remember:
  • Always count each picture carefully.
  • Write the numbers and add them together.
  • The answer should be 10 or less!

🥎Add:

2+3= 
  • Count the first group of birds. The first group has 2 birds.
  • Count the second group of birds. The second group has 3 birds.
  • To find the sum of 2 and 3, count all the birds together, like this:

  • Count the first group of birds. The first group has 1 bird.
  • Count the second group of birds. The second group has 4 birds.
